Who We Serve
The senior center provides services and activities to seniors, their families and caregivers.
Seniors functionality runs the continuum from being homebound, having Alzheimer's or to being very active.
What is different is in the type service we provide and in the environment offered.
Class of 2007 Helps Senior Center Expand Activities
Creates an outdoor environment in the backyard for games and picnics
Horseshoes, bocce ball, shuffleboard and more
Picnic tables and shelter
Beautifies the side yard and creates a seating area (this is the entrance we use for our Alzheimer program and is visible from their window.)
Repairs the landscape by the flag pole
Your Investment Dividend
Healthier senior adult population, delayed nursing home placement
Reduction in health cost
Impact on chronic illness
Decreased demand on family/caregiver for socialization
Decrease in social isolation
Decrease in depression
New friendships and increase self esteem
Can you see it now?
Two men playing checkers and talking about their dogs and what they did during the war.
A chess tournament taking place by the pavilion, the newest member finding a group that has a shared interest (she has been really lonely since she moved here to live with her son).
Can you remember watching the old men pitching horse shoes? What other activities could be done? Badminton, shuffleboard, horse trading or chasing away loneliness?
