What is respite? Respite provides a block of free time (usually 4 hours) for caregiver’s of adults that have Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia. Besides giving the caregiver a needed break it allows opportunities for persons with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia to engage in a program of meaningful social and recreational activities in a secure and supportive setting in order to maximize their cognitive and social abilities; and

prolong Alzheimer clients involvement in their community and interaction with peers
